So now I'm back to college after a well deserved Christmas holidays i feel that this is a great time to do some reflection work of what I have already done and caught up on the areas that I still need to complete and get myself and my work up to scratch for hand in's with was a few weeks after returning.
For my research for Alice In Wonderland I tried to look at a wide range of information to be able to give me plenty of imagery and inspiration to work from. After I had finished this project and had time to reflect could see that research was definitely an area in which I needed to expand in more when I come to do my next project as I did not feel like it was strong enough to help me designing and to be inspired as I only included pictures.
In my sketch book I included designs and development work, again illustration is 100% an area that I need more practice in to be able to bring up my standard of work to a more professional look!! This is something that I will continue to practise so that hopefully one day I will feel extremely proud of.
From my final outcomes for this projects I had pros and cons for each bit for felt that as I pointed this out myself it was a good learning experience for me and not wasted time. I know that for this project my time management was not the best and this will need to be looked at better for my next project as I did not have the time to finish certain points off to as good as I would have liked them to be. Also not the greatest picture of my dress but hopefully I will be able to get it photographed in the near future to really bring it to life!!
When it came to making my hat this was one of my biggest learning curves as I had only ever made garments before so it was a good experience to be using different materials and problem solving a new idea for a 3D textiles product. Along this project I did try out other materials and again I would like to learn more so that I can add more skills to my belt. I did enjoy making the hat in the end once I got into it.
Over all i think this project was a good learning curve for me as I settled onto the course, I am slightly disappointed with the outcomes as I know I have done better in the past but feel like this gives me confidence and motivation to prove myself for next time and am excited to start a new project.
